Keeping in Touch

3rd April 2020 Update

Yes - we are accepting referrals for both counselling and assessment.

We are well and hope you are too. We are continuing to work, and are adapting and adjusting to new ways of doing this. At the moment, the office is manned most days and the three psychologists are working remotely. At times one or other of us will work from the office in Burwood.

We are offering appointments using using Zoom and Skype and finding this is working well and allows people to remain safely at home. Telehealth has quickly been accepted by both Private Health Funds and Medicare. The eligibility criteria and conditions are constantly being refined, so please check what is currently in place when making an appointment.

We are not conducting face to face appointments at the present time, and we apologize that this means that once again our waiting list for complex psychometric assessments is growing longer. At the moment, we are basically splitting our usual assessment referral process into two: we can undertake a parent interview by Telehealth, obtain a history, look at documents provided electronically to us by you, administer some on-line diagnostic checklists, begin to formulate a diagnostic or treatment plan and perhaps offer some suggestions and recommendations that can be implemented while you are in isolation. When the situation changes, we will complete the face to face psychometric assessment and report documentation.

In fact, there are some very positive indicators that some of the current tests, including the WISC-V, may be digitalised and we are looking into valid and approved ways of assessing remotely and by Telehealth.
